Wed, 11/01/2006 Chile 3 Italy 12 blues massacre reds, who are again riven by internal feuding. park palms a speculative throw in into his own net to open the scoring for blues, before dummying over a g shot to let in the second - spends most of first half in goal to redeem himself - blues 7 nil up at half time. second half a bit tighter but not much - reds manage a consolation goal or two - highlight of the half - hugo c kicks ball off straight to shorty who rounds a player or two and then scores - lots of whinging ensues. duncan hat-trick - good play by fuller, beaumont, shorty, davies. very poor play by all of reds. 11 or 12 - 3 final score.

Wed, 21/12/2005 Chile 3 Italy 3 pre-christmas cheer means that no-one has their minds on the game - result - sloppy play - no real highlights of note - match is drawn
Wed, 14/12/2005 Chile 12 Italy 1 Wednesday's match report in advance. Blues get stuffed again. Trebles all round for the reds. Only sloppy defending in last minute allows consolation goal to save blushes. majority of italian team swanning around at christmas parties chasing waitresses. Is O'Reilly leaving the country ?? (Reynolds 4, Gillespie 2, Arbib 2, Gorton 2, Inglis - chip, Cuddigan; Beaumont)
Wed, 07/12/2005 Chile 10 Italy 4 Reynolds's biased version: "Chile thrash hapless blues on a cold and wet night. Chile open up a 3 goal lead before blues pull two goals back early in the second half, but their hopes are squashed as reds pull away again and end up winning 10-4, late consolation goal flatters blues. Highlights - Pete Davies samples the tarmac with a face long plunge to the deck in slippery conditions, Burrows deflects thumping Arbib volley over the bar. Mark Davies spends first half on the bench. Hugo rounds it off with a header. 2 goals each for park, reynolds, kline, and gorton." Objective grapevine - "No show Beaumont, Derrick. Amazingly both contribute more than usual in their absence. Mark Davies conducts BBC interview on the sidelines till half time. Gizzard hacks down Pete Davies from behind."
Wed, 30/11/2005 Chile 4 Italy 8 Gizz let in weak goals because he's such a poof, letting them in while shouting at others to mark players. Some of the team said we were unlucky and played quite well but in fact we were shit. - Anon
Wed, 23/11/2005 Chile 7 Italy 1 Chile thrash Italy on cold winter night - reds dominate proceedings with some excellent pass and move football - 1 nil up at half time, the second half turns into a rout, with reds running out 7-1 winners. Reds share out the goals amongst everyone except for Paddy , who managed a few shots off target - unstoppable bullet from fuller saves blues from ze humiliation of a niller.
Wed, 16/11/2005 Chile 10 Italy 6 Chile finally break their losing streak with some unlikely goal scoring heroics from jp (2), cuddigan (4) - second goal of excellent quality, gillespie ( a fine near post blast ) and kline (same again from a perfectly delivered corner). davies industrious and efficient in the middle - g's swedish exploits have left him tired this week. 10 - 6 chile.
Wed, 09/11/2005 Chile 2 Italy 8 Blues keeper taken out in warm up. New Swedish love interest drives G to best ever performance. Moaning reds suffer crashing defeat. Gorton slyly chopped by "Chops" in dying minutes, then electing to spend remainder of evening in Chelsea & Westminster wating room instead of boozing with mates.
Wed, 02/11/2005 Chile 4 Italy 5 shocking conditions last night, total sheet rain for most of the game....still the blues won 5-4 i think!!!!! it didn't help that i had a pint of guiness and a bottle of red wine at lunch...awful!!!! - G
Wed, 12/10/2005 Chile 3 Italy 5 Finch for warner makes all the difference. In a stunning turnaround from their humiliating defeat the week before, blues drop their weakest player and it pays instant dividends - treacherous pitch conditions undermine the reds slick passing game - comedy own goal by park, who palmed a speculative punt from the blue keeper into his own net giving blue a one goal lead with 10 minutes to go - victory sealed by transatlantic guest star finch in last minute - blues win 5-3

Wed, 06/04/2005 Boca Juniors 7 River Plate 4 Wednesday - Another fine win for blues , who on paper looked the weaker team. Whites storm into a 4-1 lead at the half - goals from cuddigan, shorty, and probably pete davies, while blues struggle to find rythmn. Blues start on the come back trail with a fine header from baker - mark cuddigan feeble in goal ducking out of the way from a kline shot, blues solid defensively, second half hat-trick for kline seals the win - park tap-in in the last minute ices the cake. other highlights - warner sending ball into orbit over the fence and narrowly missing a passing cyclists. blues by 3 clear goals.
Wed, 23/03/2005 Boca Juniors 8 River Plate 7 Blues win by one goal - For the blues - hat-trick for Reynolds - one notable goal - a bit like Ronaldo's against England but better because I meant it - Pete Davies scored 2 before doing his hamstring - brave performance by Beaumont who was very ill but nevertheless managed to run a bit, a cool finish from Park when normally it would have been blazed over the bar, and a couple for Kline too, who also gets credit for many assists. - For the Whites - Arbib header - Cuddigan header against the bar - volley blazed wide of the post (see a pattern emerging ?) - excellent goal at the near post by Degs after some intricate short passing with Arbib, and a fine volley by Duncs . First outing for the machine that measures how much you run.
Wed, 16/03/2005 Boca Juniors 6 River Plate 4 IT WAS the best of headers, it was the worst of headers, it was a game of wisdom, it was a game of foolishness, it was the epoch of Barney, it was the epoch of Hugo, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to the pub, we were all going direct the other way- in short, the game was so far like the chelsea barcelona game, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only. Blues win by two clear goals.
Wed, 09/03/2005 Boca Juniors 15 River Plate 18 Olly: "I was so keen i even turned up last night, with ball.after initial confusion, i won. on penalties."
Wed, 16/02/2005 Boca Juniors 6 River Plate 6 A match of the highest quality - Blues surge into a first half lead - going into the break 5 nil up, Baker, as the extra man was more of a hindrance than a help, and although nominally blue seemed to be playing for whites for most of the shortened first half with a couple of disgraceful misses in front of an open goal - quality one touch football resulting in a pair of goals for romeo and others shared between the team. Half ends as romeo sends the ball into orbit over the fence. reynolds opens the scoring with a soft goal at the near post in second half 6 nil with 25 minutes to go and blues hold out until quarter to when gorton sneaks in at the far post to open the white account - baker now more effective having switched teams at half time - whites gradually peg back the score, and are one goal down at 8 pm before a lengthy period of injury time ensues - cuddigan - miles offside - stabs the equaliser, taking the game to penalties. cool heads as follows - ethan, barney, degs, hugo, arbib, inglis, howard, davies, gorton - shameful misses - duncan (wide right), gillespie, inspired by the hammers in the fa cup misses TWICE !!!, baker, romeo. Whites win.
Wed, 09/02/2005 Boca Juniors 6 River Plate 8 4-man River sinks 7-man Boca with late Cuddigan chip over Chops. Samaria returns after six year absence looking only a decade older. Short / Warner and Gorton combine in swift passing move to complete best goal of game. Warner twice celebrates outstanding strikes but elated surprise is not shared by teammates…O'Reilly twists ankle after attempting to dribble through three Boca players.
